1. Usage

Speedyshare allows everyone to upload files to our servers, and publish the download links on the World Wide Web. User is allowed to upload only legal files which are freely distributable. Shall the user upload anything illegal, it will be deleted immediately. Password protected archives are forbidden. You may be interested in the news page to see what's going on at SpeedyShare. 2. Limits

The upload limit is 30 MB per each upload (1500 MB for registered users). User is allowed to upload more files separately. It is recommended to upload more smaller files instead of one big archive, this way the download limits (see below) won't apply so fast, resulting in much more people able to download at the same time.

There is no limit for amount of downloads. User can download any file as long as it's available, with the limit of 5 (five) GB per file per day. This limit is divided into smaller chunks during the day, and information about the next free window is displayed at the download page.

What does it mean? If many people download the same file during few minutes, the download limit for the given hour is reached and downloading of the given file is disabled temporarily. This is needed to reallocate bandwidth for other users who download other files. We don't allow any single download to affect adversely other people using SpeedyShare. In this case you'll see a message 'The one-hour limit for this download has been exceeded'. But don't worry, the file can be still downloaded, but you must wait few minutes (from 5 to 15).

3. Presence

The uploaded file will remain available for download forever, as long as the file is downloaded. If there are no downloads at all within 7 days, the file is deleted. Uploader can change this setting and decrease the interval (from 7 days to 1 hour after last successful download). All files which are not legally distributable will be deleted immediately.

4. Privacy

All possible information about uploader are collected to protect SpeedyShare service. Moreover, information about the IP address and country is visible at download page as default, unless user changes this setting (checks "hide info about this upload"). In the case the upload is considered illegal, eg. not freely distributable, then the uploaded file is deleted but download page remains accessible, showing IP address and country to everyone.
